Custom Software & App Development

UClaim's engineers build web applications, mobile apps, internal dashboards and business software when existing tools cannot fit the work. We scope the project, build what you agree on, and train your team to use it.

When off-the-shelf software does not fit

A CRM handles customer records. An accounting system handles invoices. A time-tracking app records hours. When a team needs to connect them, or when the business workflow does not match any standard tool, custom software bridges the gap.

The same engineering team that builds this website and AI workflow automation develops custom applications. We start by understanding the work you want to improve, then scope and build software that fits the job.

What we can build

Custom web applications

Web apps that handle intake, quoting, customer portals, dashboards and workflows when standard tools cannot fit the business.

Mobile applications

Scope and requirements for native apps (App Store and Google Play) or cross-platform builds depend on the agreed work and target users.

Dashboards and internal software

Business dashboards, job-tracking systems, internal review and approval tools, and reporting interfaces for teams that need visibility into operations.

System integrations

Connect custom software to the CRM, email, calendar, accounting tools and other systems your team uses, so data flows where it needs to go.

Browser vs. native apps: scope and requirements

A web app runs in a browser on phones, tablets and desktops without being installed. A native app (for iOS or Android) installs from an app store, may work offline and has access to device features like cameras and location. Cross-platform frameworks can build one app that runs on multiple systems.

The right choice depends on your users, whether the app needs to work offline, which device features matter, and your team's future needs. We discuss this in the strategy session and explain what each approach means for launch and ongoing updates. App Store and Google Play have their own review processes and standards; we build software that meets those standards, but we cannot guarantee any app store will accept it.

Integrations with systems you already use

Custom software often needs to connect to your CRM, email and calendar system, accounting software, or other tools your team depends on. We build integrations between systems so data flows without manual re-entry. The integration approach depends on what APIs those systems expose and the data that needs to move.

If you are also improving a workflow or adding AI, the custom software can manage the handoffs between AI and human review, so judgment calls go to the right person and decisions are recorded.

Work you can open and try

Our engineers have published 13 interactive web app prototypes you can try in your browser. They are illustrative demos that show what customer portals, quoting tools, dashboards and intake systems can look like.

How a custom software project works

  1. 1Strategy sessionDescribe the workflow you want to improve or the new capability you need. Bring a non-sensitive example of where work stalls or what users spend time on today.
  2. 2Game-plan reviewWithin 24 hours after the session, we meet to review the proposed scope and clarify the numbers before you decide.
  3. 3Scoped buildIf you proceed, a Tech Supervisor leads kickoff and UClaim's engineers build the agreed software. You review work as it progresses before launch.
  4. 4Training and supportYour Tech Supervisor and consultant help with onboarding and training. UClaim offers 24/7 VIP support while you and your team learn the new software.

More detail on each step is on our process page.

Custom software questions

What is the difference between a web app and a native mobile app?
A web app runs in a browser on any device and does not need to be installed. A native app (iOS or Android) installs from an app store, has deeper device access and may work offline. Cross-platform frameworks build a single app that runs on multiple platforms. The right choice depends on your users, whether they need offline access, and what device features matter. We discuss this in the strategy session.
How much does custom software cost?
Cost depends on the features, complexity, and integrations. A simple web form portal costs far less than a full team dashboard with permissioning and audit trails. We do not quote a fixed package price. After the strategy session, the game-plan review covers the proposed scope and the estimated cost before you decide.
How long does a custom software project take?
Timeline depends on the agreed features, how quickly you can provide information and approvals, and any integrations with other systems. A portal or simple dashboard is faster than a job-tracking system for 50 field teams. The timeline is set in the game-plan review.
Will I own the software and the code?
Ownership of the source code, hosting, deployments and support are agreed in writing before work starts. These details depend on your needs and the scope of the project.
Do you build apps for the App Store or Google Play?
Yes. App store submission requirements are agreed as part of the scope and are subject to each store's review process.
Can you integrate custom software with my CRM or other tools?
Yes. We build integrations with CRM platforms, email and calendar systems, accounting software and other business tools. The integration approach depends on what APIs those systems expose and the data that needs to flow between them.
Do you offer training and support after launch?
Yes. We include onboarding and training with your team during the launch phase. After launch, we offer 24/7 VIP support for technical issues and can handle small updates and improvements under a support agreement.
Do you work with businesses outside The Woodlands?
Yes. UClaim is based in The Woodlands and works with businesses across Greater Houston, including Spring, Conroe, Tomball and Houston, and with clients nationwide. Service is available in English and Spanish.

Discuss your software idea

Describe the workflow you want to improve, the current tools involved, and where the team spends time or where data gets stuck between systems. We will tell you plainly whether custom software is the answer, and what building it would look like.
